COVID-19 Ad Credits for Google Ads
[BREAKING NEWS] Google Is Giving Away $340M In Ad Credits
It looks like Google has come aboard to assist small and medium-sized businesses.
According to the World Bank, Small to Medium-sized business represents 90 percent of all businesses and more than half of employment worldwide. As we already know, many businesses have already suffered from the COVID-19 outbreak and in some cases poses a real threat to the survival of your business going forward.
Google has decided to help out by providing $340 million in ad credits to businesses worldwide.
But it’s not as easy as just getting credits from Google, there are some guidelines and policies that must be followed.
New Customers – If you’re reading this and you haven’t advertised with Google before, you won’t qualify. You will still get the standard startup promotional offer of $100 however. You can read more about that here.
So Who Is Eligible?
Any small to medium-sized business globally who has had an active ad spend in their Google Ads account for at least 10 out of 12 months of 2019, and in January and/or February of this year. Eligible Customers are those who advertise directly with Google, aka ads.google.com, or from a Google Partner. If you have an agency, get in touch with them to let them know you are aware of the credit.
How Will The Ad Credit Work?
- The ad credit is for future spend only and will not be applied to past billing or current ad spend. It can be used towards their Search, Display, and YouTube campaign types as well as all campaign types.
- You only get one credit per customer. If you have multiple accounts or campaigns, you still only get one credit.
- Eligible customers will start seeing the credits in late May 2020 and it must be used by Dec 31, 2020, after which the credit will expire.
- The ad credit amount will vary based on the customer’s past Google Ads spend, the country, and currency.
